Dr. Dan Rosen inducted as a Fields Institute fellow

The Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences announced in its Annual General Meeting on June 28 2010, the induction of Dr. Dan Rosen as a Fields Institute Fellow. This lifetime appointment is conferred on “individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Fields Institute, its programs, and to the Canadian mathematical community.” He was one of six Fields Fellows inducted in 2010 by the Toronto-based Institute.
In 2006 Dr. Rosen founded the financial analytics’ software company R2 Financial Technologies. Incubated at the Fields Institute between 2006 and 2009, the company is now close to 25 people and is successfully serving financial institutions in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Israel. In addition, Dr. Rosen has been a long-time contributor and organizer of the PRMIA Risk Management Seminars and the Quantitative Finance Seminar Series running at the Fields Institute for many years, and was part of the organizing committee for the six-month thematic program on Quantitative Finance, which ran from January-June 2010. Dr. Rosen has also served for several years now on the institute’s industrial advisory board.
